Havana hides the lanes where you come back 50 years back next to the beautiful corners, places protected by Unesco. And perhaps this is one of the most visited cities in the world. He breathes with the magic of old childhood, imperfections and his pace of life.

What do you need to travel to Havana? What to See in Havana? Who helped us? What tips and advice did we get? I'll be happy to share them with you. We made this long journey with a two-year-old daughter.

Travelers with children shared diapers with us

To travel to Cuba you need vaccination against jaundice and typhoid fever. This can be vaccinated from 2 years old child. Despite the vaccination, the daughter fell ill with some gastro virus at the end of the trip just before her departure. She had high fever, she was unable to eat anything, barely drink, vomited and had diarrhea. We were faced with the decision to take her to a hospital in Cuba and have the plane fly away or fly away and deal with the disease along the way. We chose the second option. However, Gouverment Airport in Cuba has shown its strength, and with the apparently ill little and crying child, they have let us wait until the last moment until priority passengers arrive despite the intercession of other passengers. On a Swissair plane, the staff took care of us, consulted our problem with the doctor on board, and helped us take care of our daughter to make the journey. In Zurich, we were preferentially released from a plane where we had escorts directly to the airport hospital. It turned out that this is really a gastro problem. Daughter got some salts, soothing medication and we managed another plane to Prague. #travelwithchildren #cuba #havana #swissair #varadero

We booked the flights ourselves from Prague via Zurich to Varadero with Swissair. From Varadero we took a taxi to Havana, where we already secured a hotel and a local guide through a small Czech agency. The guide for your first visit to this city was a great choice. He showed us the most important of the city and even in our language - he lived in the Czech Republic for a few years. He gave us advice on how to respond to street vendors, which we did not seem to meet at all. But it was only while we had a guide :) then they "rushed" us. We visited the Tobacco Museum, Cuban Rum, all the Unesco-protected squares (no cars could drive - which was absolutely perfect). Without a guide the next few days, the side streets that plunged us into the reality of Cuban life in terms of hygiene, small opportunities to buy the necessary things, yet safe and beautiful atmosphere.
